Good luck with your Ma and Pa. Don't worry about us; we'll still be here when you're ready, willing and able to talk to us. Look after you, too, don't forget.
Caring for aging parents can be really difficult, and even more so when dementia is involved. I’ve been there. Praying you can find peaceful moments to help you regroup until you can get back out to where there’s no one around for miles.
The contrast of several beautiful landscapes then the vertical bars at the window is like the difference between freedom and feeling imprisoned, which describes visually how hard the situation with your parents truly is. Thankfully you have captured places you can visualize to give your mind a break, even if you can't visit them this moment. I pray for a peaceable resolution, and concur with those who wrote before me...do take care of yourself in all this.
Thank you for describing – and illustrating – those early morning moments of solitude so beautifully. I hope the chance to return to them arrives soon… – although completely understand the hell that you are going through, having gone through something similar. Look after yourself.

What town did you see the Oasis? I just came north from Virginia city but also drove through Stagecoach.

Thanks so much .. yes I’d not realised the juxtaposition of that image until I started to put the post together

My best for your father. Those are significant injuries for a man of his age.
